Spring Heeled Jack, a tiny goblin with springs for legs spends his nights smelling the cold night air for the distinctive odour of a naughty child fast asleep in bed. As soon as he catches the scent he’s away, springing across the frozen city until he arrives outside the right window... He’s never seen, at least not by anyone who will ever be able to speak again as Jack’s night time assignment is to steal as many voices as he can to fill the rows and rows of empty jars in his secret cavern lair.

The film was made as part of the U.K. Film Council's Digital Short Scheme. I had the idea for the film after a reading article about the urban myth of Spring Heeled Jack, I thought it was a cool concept, so I played with the idea and developed a kind of dark fairy tale around it... a kid's film but with an adult sensibility... the team around the film were all great from Haz Dullul who worked so hard getting everything rendered on time, the guys at Igloo Filmworks - who produced and AMAZING score for the film and of course Seamus O'Neill who gave a brilliant reading as the narrator...

Movie: The Curse of the Wraydons

Based on a "famous" play , Spring-Heeled Jack or The Terror of London by Maurice Sandoz. At this vital moment there were a few traitorous Englishmen willing to sell their country for their gain.

(1946) Tod Slaughter, Bruce Seton, Andrew Laurence. Tod goes about the countryside strangling everybody. His evil scheme is to destroy the family who wronged him. He secret lab is complete with a torture chamber, featured in the film’s climax. Probably the most maniacal portrayal Tod ever gave. From 35mm.

The Mystery Of The Wax Museum 1932-1933

The German director Paul Leni’s silent Waxworks (1924), a trio of stories linked by a man hired to write about three wax exhibits. Their stories were played out by three of the country’s top stars, Emil Jannings (as the fun-loving Caliph of Baghdad), Conrad Veidt (as torture-loving Ivan the Terrible), and Werner Krauss (as the daring, death-dealing Spring-heeled Jack).

Waxworks (original title: Das Wachsfigurenkabinett) is an 1924 fantasy/horror silent film directed by Paul Leni. The film is about a writer who accepts a job from a waxworks proprietor to write a series of stories about the exhibits of Caliph of Baghdad (Emil Jannings), Ivan the Terrible (Conrad Veidt) and Springheeled Jack (some have also referred to this character as Jack the Ripper) (played by Werner Krauss) in the museum in order to boost business.

A scene from "Waxworks"...
